FAQ
What is the difference between a parapente and a paratrike?
A paraglider launches on foot from a slope and descends under gravity. A paratrike is a wheeled unit with an engine that takes off from flat ground and can climb. The second suits anyone unsure about running off a hillside.
Where does Daydream Paragliding fly from?
Vilaflor, which at around 1,400 metres is the highest village on Tenerife and sits on the road climbing to the Teide crater. The height is the point: it gives a long descent towards the coast.
Do I need experience for a tandem flight?
No. The instructor flies and you are strapped in front. The briefing covers take-off and landing, and on a paratrike there is no running involved at all.
What should I wear to go paragliding in Tenerife?
Trainers or walking shoes rather than sandals, and a layer more than the coast needs: Vilaflor sits well above the resorts and is several degrees cooler. Sunglasses are worth having in the air.
Is it cold flying from that height?
Cooler than the coast, yes. The village is high enough to sit above the cloud belt on many days, which is part of what makes the view worth having, and the temperature drops accordingly.
How do I book a flight with Daydream Paragliding?
Directly with the operator, agreeing whether you want the foot-launched flight or the paratrike. Flights move with the wind, so a flexible morning is worth more than a fixed slot.
