The obvious first choice if you intend to walk at all.

A roof, a map and somebody to ask

That makes it the practical starting point for anyone walking in Anaga rather than only looking at it.

FAQ
What is laurisilva?
Laurel cloud forest, the vegetation that covered southern Europe before the Ice Age. It survives in the Canaries, Madeira and the Azores, and Anaga holds one of the best remaining stands of it.
Are there walks from the viewpoint?
Several marked routes start at the centre, including the Sendero de los Sentidos, three short interpreted loops suitable for anyone. Longer routes to Chinamada and down to Taganana also begin here.
Will I actually see anything?
Often not, and that is not bad luck. Cloud sits on this ridge for much of the year, which is why the forest is here. Going for the forest rather than the view is the way to avoid disappointment.
Is there parking and food?
There is a car park and a visitor centre with staff, which is rare on this island's viewpoints. It fills at weekends when residents come up from the capital.
How do I get there without a car?
Bus 077 climbs from Santa Cruz to Cruz del Carmen and 076 continues along the ridge. That combination makes Anaga one of the few good walking areas here reachable on public transport.
How high is it?
Around 900 metres, on the ridge that runs the length of the Anaga peninsula. Expect it to be several degrees cooler and considerably damper than the coast below.
