FAQ

Where is La Caleta?

At the far end of Costa Adeje, beyond Playa del Duque. It began as a fishing settlement and still looks like one at the water's edge, despite the development that has grown up behind it.

Is it only pizza?

No. The kitchen describes itself as Mediterranean as well as Italian, so there is fish and a wider menu alongside the pizza. That suits a table where not everyone wants the same thing.

Can I book a table online?

The restaurant runs its own reservation pages, so a table can be held in advance without telephoning. Worth doing at weekends: La Caleta is a destination for residents as well as visitors.

How do I get there from the resorts?

Ten minutes by car or taxi from most of Costa Adeje, a little longer from Playa de las Américas. There is also a coastal walkway from Playa del Duque for anyone who would rather arrive on foot.

Is La Caleta worth visiting in itself?

Yes. It is the closest thing on this stretch of coast to a village, with a small harbour, rock pools and a run of seafood restaurants along the front. Most people come for the evening rather than the day.

Does it get busy?

In the evening, particularly at weekends. La Caleta draws people out from the resorts precisely because it does not feel like one, which fills its restaurants earlier than you might expect.
