FAQ
Where in the airport is it?
Inside the Tenerife South terminal, the airport almost all international flights use. Tenerife North is a separate airport an hour away with its own retail.
Is it more expensive than a shop in town?
Airport retail generally is, and this is no exception. What it buys is the ability to solve the problem at the departure gate rather than not at all.
Does it sell island products or the usual duty-free range?
It presents itself as an island shop: local craft work, gifts and food rather than the international perfume and spirits range that fills most terminals.
Can I take food through security?
Solid food is fine in hand luggage. Liquids, which includes mojo sauces, honey and wine, are limited in the cabin, so those are better bought before check-in and packed in the hold.
Which Canarian foods travel well?
Gofio, hard cheeses, packaged mojo and palm honey. Wine travels well too but has to go in the hold, so it needs buying before the bags are checked rather than after.
Should I do my shopping here?
Only as a fallback. The island's shops and markets are cheaper and considerably more interesting, and both need to happen before the day of the flight.
